Network high-definition cameras can be combined with routers, switches, NVR (network video recorders) and other equipment to form a monitoring system. 1. Camera type
Surveillance camera products are very rich in variety. According to the type, they can be divided into hemispherical, wired cylinder, high-speed dome, indoor wireless, panoramic, outdoor wireless, CPE-IPC integrated machine, etc. You can find suitable ones in different monitoring environments and scenarios. For example, in open scenes such as squares and parks, it is recommended to choose a high-speed dome camera, which supports functions such as pan/tilt and zoom, so that you can see farther and more clearly; because the entrance and exit of the hotel are lit 24 hours a day, and there are frequent entrances and exits, it is recommended to install a starlight camera. Full-color images can still be maintained at low illuminance; full-color cameras are recommended to be installed in parking lots, underground garages, etc. Recording is also performed, and the monitoring is more convincing; convenience stores, small shops and other environments with a small area and less interference can choose wifi wireless cameras, and the layout is more flexible.
2. Power supply method
Some IPCs support both DC power supply and standard PoE power supply; some IPCs only support standard PoE power supply; and some only support DC power supply. Among them, the IPC that supports PoE can be connected to a PoE switch or a PoE network hard disk video recorder to supply power, and the construction and maintenance are simpler and more convenient.
Non-PoE power supply: Each camera needs wires, network cables, PVC sleeves, sockets, security power supplies… There are a lot of accessories, the wiring is messy, the installation is complicated, and the maintenance is not easy. Of course, the integrated integrated line of network cable + electric wire now also reduces the trouble of monitoring wiring.
PoE power supply: One camera and one network cable, data and power are transmitted at the same time, simple and convenient.
3. Lens focal length
The focal length of the IPC lens is 2.8mm/4mm/6mm/8mm/12mm, etc. Each product series can choose the focal length of the lens, which can meet the shooting needs of various indoor and outdoor environments. Generally speaking, the larger the focal length, the smaller the field of view, and the farther the monitoring distance is.
In actual use scenarios, the focal length of 2.8mm is suitable for relatively narrow environments such as elevators and stairs, and 4mm is suitable for larger scenes such as meeting rooms and shops, while more open places such as parking lots, factory workshops, and courtyards are fine. Choose a lens above 6mm; the specific choice can be determined according to the needs.
For surveillance cameras, clarity is key. As we all know, the higher the resolution of the camera and the higher the pixels of the sensor, the clearer the image will be. The common ones are 1 million, 1.3 million, 2 million, 3 million, 4 million and 5 million.
So, is the higher the resolution the better?
It is true that a camera with higher resolution and pixels will produce better results, but it will also occupy more bandwidth and memory space, and the recording time of a hard disk of the same size will be shorter.
Therefore, when choosing the resolution of the camera, the storage problem should also be considered when pursuing clarity, just choose the one that is suitable for you. Of course, combined with regular video recording and motion detection video recording, the actual valuable surveillance video stored on the hard disk will last longer.
5. Night vision distance
If you want to monitor at night, you must use an IPC with good night vision. The night vision distance is mainly determined by the number of infrared lights. The night vision distance of single light is 30 meters, the night vision distance of double lights is 50 meters, and the night vision distance of four lights is 80 meters.
6. Coding Standards
There are four coding standards supported by TP-LINK IPC: H.264, H.265, H.264+ and H.265+. H.265 is a new generation coding standard, which can convert video to The size is compressed to half of the former. In the case of the same bandwidth, H.265 can transmit more high-definition video.
H.264+ and H.265+ are more powerful coding technologies developed after H.264 and H.265. Without loss of image quality, H.264+ can compress the video size to H.264 1/2 of the standard, H.265+ can compress the video size to 1/3 to 1/10 of the H.265 standard.
